Harimau Muda Secures Second Win at AFC U-23 Asian Cup Qualifiers with 4-0 Victory over Philippines
In the AFC Under-23 Asian Cup qualifiers Group H match held at Chonburi Stadium on Saturday, September 9, Harimau Muda claimed their second win by defeating the Philippines 4-0.
The scoring opened incredibly early in the first minute when Malaysia U-23's captain and midfielder, Mukhairi Ajmal Mahadi, found the back of the net following a pass from Fergus Tierney.
Winger T. Saravanan marked his first goal of the game in the sixth minute, skillfully converting a cross delivered by striker Luqman Hakim.
Center-back Harith Haiqal Adam Afkar stretched the lead further with a spectacular long-range shot from 20 meters out, occurring in the 23rd minute.
Saravanan completed a brace with his second goal of the game, courtesy of another assist from Fergus in the 61st minute.
Malaysia's next challenge awaits them against the host nation, Thailand, at Chonburi Stadium on September 12.
